Hawaii won on the mercy 10-run rule.

Ezra Heleski became only the second pitcher in LLWS history to pitch a complete game shutout. He allowed only two hits.

Heleski said team work and "coming out hungry" will be key to playing Japan for the world title.

Kahoea Akau made some great defensive plays and made three hits in his three at bats. Noah Shackles hit a homerun and Justice Nakagawa hit a triple in Waipio's offensive barrage.

Waipio won it all in 2008.

Hawaii beat Georgia two days in a row. The team pulled off the 7-4 win Thursday night over Columbus, Ga., then rallied from behind 0-4 to win 12-5 on Friday.

The Hawaii/Japan match-up airs live on KITV4 at 9 a.m. on Sunday. KITV.com will provide play-by-play and host comments in a Live Wire blog/chat starting at 9 a.m., too.

It will be the first match-up for Hawaii and Japan. Japan has been a tough team in the LLWS. The team has not lost a game.

Gov. Linda Lingle on Friday called on Hawaii residents to help the families of the Waipio players because of the expenses to take the team through the regionals and Little League World Series.

"While the community has shown an outpouring of support and praise for the Waipio All-Stars throughout their pursuit of a second Little League World Series title, I encourage those who can to also show their aloha for the team through a monetary contribution to help the families offset some of the travel and related expenses," Lingle said.
