Wahine Basketball Season Ends

Fresno State Bounces Hawaii Out Of WAC In 1st Round

The University of Hawaii Wahine basketball team lost in the first round of the Western Athletic Conference tournament Wednesday, ending their losing season.

No. 1 seed Fresno State beat UH 83-55 in Reno, Nev. It is the third year in a row that Fresno State defeated Hawaii in the post season.

Senior Dita Liepkalne led the team with 12 points, four rebounds and six assists.

Coach Dana Takara-Dias ended her first season as head coach of the Wahine with a 10-20 record.
