Coach Kicks Linebacker Off Team, Sends Another Home

HONOLULU -- Honolulu police arrested a University of Nevada football player, who is on Oahu for the Sheraton Hawaii Bowl, on charges of shoplifting. Andre Davis, a Wolf Pack linebacker, was booked on felony shoplifting police said. He remains in custody on $11,000 bail. Davis stole items from the Duty Free Shop Galleria in Waikiki, authorities said.The team suspended Davis and another player, Michael "Duke" Williams, from the Christmas Eve game for violating team rules."I have dismissed Andre Davis from the program immediately and I have suspended Duke Williams for the bowl game," head coach Chris Ault said in a statement released late Tuesday night to ABC affiliate KOLO. "I want to apologize to the Sheraton Hawaii Bowl, the people of Hawaii and our fans for their conduct."
