Cubi-Otineru Earns 3rd Team Honors

University of Hawaii Wahine volleyball player Kanani Danielson on Wednesday was named to the AVCA All-American first team.

The Western Athletic Conference also named Danielson the WAC Player of the Year.

The sophomore averaged 4.25 kills, 2.3 digs and 0.65 blocks per set. She also posted seven double-doubles on the year.

Aneli Cubi-Otineru was named to the third team. She averaged 3.08 kills, 2.53 digs per set and led the team with 56 service aces.

Amber Kaufman and Dani Mafua also earned AVCA All-America honorable mention honors.

The Rainbow Wahine face No. 1 Penn State on Thursday in the NCAA Championships national semifinal match.
