Eugene, OR -- (Sports Network) - Andre McFarland scored 13 points to lead the Colorado State Rams to a 57-40 victory over the Winston-Salem State Rams as part of the Basketball Travelers' Tip-Off Tournament at McArthur Court.

Adam Nigon added 11 points for Colorado State (2-0), while Travis Franklin grabbed a game-high nine rebounds in the win.

Winston-Salem State (0-2) was led by Shelton Carter, who scored 14 points and grabbed eight rebounds in the losing effort.

Winston-Salem State held Colorado State to a meager 27.3 percent shooting effort from the field in the first half and went into the break with a 28-22 lead.

However, the Rams of Colorado State returned the favor in the second stanza, as they limited Wiston-Salem State to a putrid 16.7 percent shooting effort from the floor en route to the 17-point victory.

Neither team shot well in the contest, but Colorado State made 20-of-25 attempts from the foul line, while Winston-Salem State connected on just 10- of-25 shots from the charity stripe.
