Serena Williams Withdraws From Fed Cup Final

(Sports Network) - Serena Williams has decided to withdrawal from the Fed Cup final against Italy, the U.S. Tennis Association said on Saturday.

Williams, who has not played in a Fed Cup event since 2007, will be replaced by Vania King for the November 7-8 matches.

The 11-time Grand Slam winner is unbeaten in Fed Cup singles competition.
