Cash Leads Storm Over Monarchs In Seattle

(Sports Network) - Swin Cash led all scorers with 18 points, as the Seattle Storm downed the Sacramento Monarchs, 66-55, at Key Arena.

Lauren Jackson added 11 points for Seattle, which has won two straight following a two-game skid. Tanisha Wright posted eight points and seven assists in the win, while Janell Burse added nine points off the bench.

Scholanda Robinson and Rebekkah Brunson both scored 10 points for the Monarchs, who saw their brief two-game win streak halted and lost for the seventh time in their last nine games overall. Nicole Powell tallied a game- high eight rebounds.

The Storm opened a six-point lead, 18-12, after the opening quarter, extended their lead to 38-28 at the break and never looked back. The victorious hosts shot 5-of-14 from three-point range, while the Monarchs attempted only seven shots from beyond the arc (2-for-7).
