New York, NY -- (Sports Network) - The WNBA announced Thursday that Dan Hughes of the San Antonio Silver Stars and Lin Dunn of the Indiana Fever will be the head coaches for the 2009 All-Star Game.

Hughes will guide the Western Conference squad, while Dunn will lead the Eastern Conference team. It is a first-time honor for both coaches.

Hughes was chosen after guiding the Silver Stars to the Western Conference championship in 2008.

Bill Laimbeer was the head coach of the 2008 Eastern Conference champion Detroit Shock, but since he stepped down from his position in June, Dunn was tabbed for the spot. Her club has the best winning percentage in the Conference, and the league, with a mark of 8-2.

The 2009 WNBA All-Star Game will be played on Saturday, July 25 at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut.
