Wozniacki Among Quarterfinal Winners In Bastad

(Sports Network) - Caroline Wozniacki of Denmark was among Thursday's quarterfinal winners at the inaugural Swedish Open.

Wozniacki, the top seed and world No. 9, posted a 7-5, 7-6 (7-4) victory over Russia's Maria Kirilenko and will next take on third-seeded Flavia Pennetta. The Italian cruised to a 6-4, 6-2 win over Alla Kudryavtseva of Russia.

A pair of seeded players were upset in the other half of the bracket, as second-seeded Dominika Cibulkova of Slovakia and seventh-seeded Carla Suarez Navarro of Spain were eliminated.

Argentina's Gisela Dulko won a grueling three-setter against Cibulkova, pulling out a 6-7 (5-7), 6-3, 7-6 (8-6) triumph to set up a semifinal against Maria Jose Martinez Sanchez. She knocked off Suarez Navarro, 4-6, 6-3, 6-0.

This week's champion will pocket $37,000.
