POSTED: 6:35 pm HST July 8, 2009

(Sports Network) - Diana Taurasi, who last week was cited for drunk driving, had 22 points and 10 rebounds to power Phoenix to a 90-70 win over the Chicago Sky.

Cappie Pondexter added 16 points and six assists for the Mercury, who won their third in a row to equal a season-best. Le'coe Willingham had 11 points, while Tangela Smith chipped in nine points and 13 rebounds.

Candice Dupree had 22 points and 12 rebounds for the Sky, who have lost three straight.

Taurasi took matters into her own hands, scoring the game's first six points, and Temeka Johnson capped the opening 22-2 burst with a pair of free throws. It was 34-17 after the first quarter and the Mercury led 48-30 at the half. They maintained the double-digit margin the remainder of the game.
