NCAA Game Summary - Fresno State Vs. Utah State

(Sports Network) - Stavon Williams buried 6-of-8 three-pointers en route to a game-high 22 points, leading the top-seeded Utah State Aggies to an 85-68 win over the ninth-seeded Fresno State Bulldogs in the quarterfinal round of the Western Athletic Conference Tournament at the Lawlor Events Center.

Utah State (28-4) will take on No. 5 seed New Mexico State in Friday's semifinal round. Jared Quayle and Gary Wilkerson added 18 points apiece for the WAC regular-season champs.

Paul George paced Fresno State (13-21) with 16 points, but the Bulldogs were not able to overcome a sluggish start. Dwight O'Neil was next in line with 14 points, followed by Sylvester Seay with 12, and Mychal Ladd with 10.

The Aggies jumped out to an early 16-2 lead, as they went on to shoot 64 percent from the floor in the first half. Utah State buried a ridiculous 9- of-13 three-pointers en route to a 45-31 halftime lead.

The Aggies kept the pressure on the second stanza, holding a 16-5 scoring edge at the foul line and leading by as many as 19 before the final buzzer.

Utah State knocked down 13-of-21 three-pointers and 20-of-25 free throws for the game. In addition to their hot shooting, the Aggies also held a 35-22 advantage on the boards.
