(Sports Network) - Lavoy Allen registered a double-double with 17 points and 16 rebounds to lead the Temple Owls to a 63-53 victory over the George Washington Colonials in an Atlantic 10 tussle.

Damian Hollis posted a game-high 21 points and grabbed six rebounds to lead the way for George Washington (10-18, 4-12), while Rob Diggs tallied 12 points to go with 10 rebounds in the losing effort.

The Owls opened a 32-24 halftime lead despite hitting a meager 30.0 percent of their attempts from the field during the opening frame.

Both squads suffered a cold-shooting second stanza, as the Colonials hit just 36.7 percent from the floor to Temple's 35.3 percent effort. The Owls hit all four of their free throws over the final 20 minutes.

The Colonials converted a mere 35.2 percent of their attempts from the field in the tilt, including 4-of-16 from three-point range.
