2008 HONOLULU -- Maui-born Major League Baseball player Shane Victorino on Wednesday won the Gold Glove Award.MLB released the names of the National League winners.Victorino is already riding high after his team, the Philadelphia Phillies, won the World Series in October. The centerfielder played a key role in the post season by hitting in a record number of RBIs in Phillie history. Shane Victorino's Blog Victorino committed just two errors in 323 total chances. He is the fourth Phillies outfielder to win the award. This was the Saint Anthony School graduate's fourth year with the Phillies.He is up for free agency during this off-season.Pitcher Greg Maddux won his record 18th Gold Glove. He is expected to retire during this off-season. He leaves as the game's winningest pitcher and possibly the best fielder at his position.The remainder of the NL Gold Glove list includes catcher Yadier Molina of the Cardinals, first baseman Adrian Gonzalez of the Padres, second baseman Brandon Phillips of the Reds, shortstop Jimmy Rollins of the Phillies, third baseman David Wright of the Mets, outfielder Nate McLouth of the Pirates and outfielder Carlos Beltran of the Mets.Managers and coaches from each NL team vote on the players.
