Professional surfer Andy Irons of Kauai is being sued by a mainland investor.

The investor claimed the former world champion had some part in him being defrauded out of $20 million.

The case involves Kauai businessman James Lull, who was convicted of a money scheme earlier this week.

The trustee for Lull's bankruptcy said he never heard any allegation that Irons was helping Lull. The Irons family said Lull owes them $1 million.

Irons is currently in France competing in a surf contest and his attorney did not return KITV's calls.

Lull may have forged Andy Iron's signature and used his name without permission, sources said.

Lull told the court he promised in his plea to cooperate against others who may have profited and take a polygraph to identify what he did with the victims' millions.

Lull is scheduled for sentencing in January. He remains free on $100,000 bail.
