KITV4 Sports Robert Kekalua has learned that former University of Hawaii and Iolani School linebacker Matt Wright is the new football head coach for St. Louis School.
As KITV4 Sports first reported, Darnell Arceneaux resigned Thursday afternoon.
His coaching staff was informed about the resignation around 6 p.m. Thursday, right after practice.
There is no confirmed reason why Arceneaux left the program.
Arceneaux was the Crusaders' head coach for the past two seasons, with a state title in 2010.
St. Louis had a 6-4 record in 2011 and an 11-1 record the year the team won the state championship.
This is Arceneaux's second stint at St. Louis. He was head coach for one season in 2003 with a 9-2 record.
Arceneaux is a former all-state quarterback for St. Louis and was the signal caller at Utah. He was also head coach at Mililani High School.
