Hawaii's Michelle Wie is in the lead at the end of Round 2 of the U.S. Women's Open in Pinehurst, N.C. on Friday.
Wie is three strokes ahead of fellow American Lexi Thompson.
Wie shot two consecutive days of 2-under-par 68 at Pinehurst #2. She's 4-under-par for the tournament. Only Wie and Thompson are under par for the tournament.
Defending champion Inbee Park is 11 strokes behind Wie.
Two months ago, Wie won her first professional tournament on U.S. soil at the LOTTE Championship at Ko Olina.
The Punahou graduate is now looking for her fourth LPGA tour victory and her first U.S. Women's Open title.
