Te'o, Toma to be welcomed home with parade

April 27 parade to start at Hauula Beach Park, end at Laie Park

Honolulu Mayor Kirk Caldwell announced Tuesday that the city will co-sponsor a parade with the Koolauloa community on Saturday, April 27 to welcome home Notre Dame football stars Manti Te'o and Robby Toma.

The parade will begin at 4 p.m. beside Hauula Beach Park, and end at approximately 5 p.m. at Laie Park, where a community celebration will be held.

"We’re all very proud of these home-town heroes, and we’re pleased to welcome them back home," Caldwell said.

The parade will begin on Kamehameha Highway, across from Hauula Beach Park, and proceed as follows:  turn left on Hauula Homestead Road and loop through Hauula to Kamehameha Highway; turn left on Kamehameha Highway and proceed to Laie; turn left on Naniloa Loop and loop back to Kamehameha Highway, then continue to Kahuku; turn left on Pualalea Street, right on Kekauoha Street, left on Huehu Street, left on Leleuli Street, left on Pualalea Street, right on Kamehameha Highway and back to Laie; then right on Naniloa Loop to Poohaili Street, and to Laie Park.
