Mesa Wants New Trial Over Hawaiian Air

Lawyers for Hawaiian Airlines and Mesa Air Group, the parent company of go! Airlines, were back battling in court on Tuesday.

It has been two weeks since a judge ordered Mesa to pay its rival $80 million in damages for misusing confidential information.

Mesa Air Group wants a new trial, citing new evidence found on company hard drives.

Hawaiian is asking that Mesa post a bond of $98 million while the appeal is being heard. That amount also covers close to $5 million in legal fees.

Bankruptcy Judge Robert Faris said an appeal could take up three years to resolve.

Lawyers for both sides in the high-stakes case are expect to be back in court on Monday.
