Democratic Party releases Maui Senate appointee finalists

One of the finalists will hold Senate District 5 seat

The members of the Maui Democratic Party Senate 5, District Council 8 and 9 along with Precinct leaders met on Saturday, Jan. 5 to select three prospective appointees from a list of candidates that submitted their names.

The selection committee sent the following names to be sent to the governor for his consideration:

The Democratic Party of Hawaii says it wishes each of these prospective appointees well as they have been vetted and found qualified for the Senate position sought.

One of them will be appointed to the State Senate District 5 seat previously held by Shan Tsutsui, who is now lieutenant governor.
