HONOLULU -

The Hawaii Elections Commission decided Friday not to hand down any punishment for the ballot shortage debacle in the 2012 General Election.

A task force for the commission says they interviewed several department heads and a former chief election officer and determined there was no single cause for the fiasco.

They are working with Chief Election Officer Scott Nago to create a more structured system of checks and balances.

Lara Yamada will have more on this story tonight on KITV4 News at 5, 6 and 10.
