Akaka, Case To Debate Thursday Night

The stage is set for the only debate in the biggest election race this year.

U.S. Sen. Daniel Akaka is facing off against his challenger, U.S. Rep. Ed Case, in a live televised debate 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Case has picked up some support this week receiving endorsements from the Hawaii Restaurant Association and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.

Akaka was endorsed by the University of Hawaii Professional Assembly and a group of 16 Democratic lawmakers.

The primary election is Sept. 23.
