20 Oahu polling sites run out of ballots

KITV4 News has learned about 20 polling sites on Oahu that ran out of paper ballots on Election Day.  People in line were able to vote electronically.

The following is the official list of polling places that ran out of paper ballots at some point on Election Day, according to state election officials:

  1. Ala Wai Elementary
  2. August Ahrens Elementary
  3. Hahaione Elementary
  4. Hokulani Elementary
  5. Holy Trinity
  6. Jefferson Elementary
  7. Kaelepulu Elementary
  8. Kaimuki High School
  9. Kainalu Elementary
  10. Kalaheo High School
  11. Kamiloiki Elementary
  12. Lehua Elementary
  13. Leilehua High School
  14. Manana Elementary
  15. Maili Elementary
  16. Mililani District Park
  17. Royal Kunia Elementary
  18. Salt Lake Elementary
  19. Waianae Intermediate
  20. Wilson Elementary

Elections officials point to a spike in turnout and an underestimation of ballots needed.
