As early voting begins for the general election, state elections officials said they need help for what is expected to be a big turnout on Nov. 4.

Workers put the finishing touches on voting booths set up at City Hall on Monday. Workers received instructions and walked through the process on how to get the voters in and out.

The city clerk's office handles the early absentee walk-in voting, which begins Tuesday. The state Office of Elections is in charge of the general election.

On the day of the primary election they had some problems. Volunteers did not show up on time and some polling places opened late.

State officials said they still need at least 100 more volunteers to staff the voting sites. They are asking community groups and members of the public to volunteer.

The city clerk's office said everything is under control for the early voting.

"On Election Day, those are community volunteers and whatnot; a one-day operation. We're open for 10 days and so these persons are actually working in our office and assigned here by a staffing agency. So, we'll be open at 8 a.m.," said Glen Takahashi, of the city clerk's office.

You can vote early at 15 locations around the islands. Find out where those locations are and what time they are open.
