students from nine high schools across the island will be hitting the field at the 38th annual Oahu Marching Band Festival at Aloha Stadium. Here to tell us more is Chad Kamei... Band Director at Pearl City High School. It showcases the talent and dedication of Hawaii's youth and supports performing arts in local schools Over 700 students from nine Oahu high schools participate -- from Aiea, Castle, Farrington, Kapolei, Mililani, Moanalua, Pearl City, Radford and Roosevelt Each marching band will perform an eight to 10 minute marching routine, after which they will be evaluated by a panel of judges and provided with comments to help improve performance for future shows. Tickets to the Oahu Marching Band Festival, which will be available at Aloha Stadium on the day of the event, are $7 for adults, $5 for youth grades kindergarten through 12, and free for children ages four and under.
