Tennessee Titans 2008 Training Camp Preview

(Sports Network) -

REPORT DATES: Rookies July 25th, Veterans July 25th

SITE: Austin Peay State University, Clarksville, TN/Baptist Sports Park, Nashville, TN

CAMP OBJECTIVES: Mike Heimerdinger is back as the Titans' offensive coordinator following a three-year hiatus, and his main objective will be breathing some life into an offense that has recently moved in fits and start. Tight end Alge Crumpler (Falcons) and rookie running back Chris Johnson (East Carolina), and prodigal wideout Justin McCareins (Jets) were brought in to help take some pressure off of Vince Young, and all will have to prove they're ready to contribute. A defense that was ranked high in most NFL statistical categories a year ago won't change much, though there has been some turnover at defensive end. Jevon Kearse (Eagles), 31, whose early pro promise has been overshadowed by countless injuries, will have to show that he has something left in his second stint with the club.

PRESEASON SCHEDULE:

Aug 9 - vs. St. Louis, 8:00 PM Aug 15 - vs. Oakland, 8:00 PM Aug 22 - at Atlanta, 7:30 PM Aug 28 - at Green Bay, 8:00 PM
