The entertainment bug bit Yasmin at a very early age. In the sixth grade, she was a cameraperson and news anchor for Kid Witness News. Her first experience on camera left her with a desire to pursue a career on television. Then she started competing in high school speech and debate competitions, followed by her modeling and acting career, which began in college. Yasmin won her first beauty pageant title of Miss Teen International Hawaii in 2003. In 2004, she represented Hawaii in the Philippines Mutya Ng Pilipinas, where she was a Top 10 Finalist. Then in 2007, she hosted the television show "Destination: Groove Dance Hawaii" with Jordan Segundo and is now a host on KITV's "Ohana Road."

Yasmin's interest in journalism peaked while hosting so she interned at a local news station and fell in love with the live and breaking news action. Those feelings took her back to that day in sixth grade when she realized what her career goal was. She is thrilled to join the morning team and give the latest real-time traffic reports.
