Amber-Lynn's background is as "chop suey" as Hawaii's cultural diversity. Prior to KITV, she was an Aloha Airlines flight attendant as well as a Weekend Assistant Producer for another local news channel.

The news business bug hit her early on but came out in full force when she stepped foot into the newsroom. While Amber-Lynn’s interest in journalism continued to develop, it was a love for surf, which took her on another path. Learning the various elements that affect surf conditions was reason enough for her to dive right into island weather.
