Paula Akana

Paula Akana anchors KITV 4 News at 10 Monday through Friday. She began her career at KITV as an intern in 1983.

Along with her news duties, Paula hosts the popular Merrie Monarch Festival and the Queen Lili'uokalani Keiki Hula Competition.

Paula is a graduate of Kamehameha Schools and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism from the University of Hawaii at Manoa.

In her spare time, Paula serves as a volunteer for the Polynesian Voyaging Society. She serves on the Steering Committee for 'Imi Hale, a Native Hawaii Cancer Awareness Network. Paula is also a board member with the YMCA.
