Jill Kuramoto

Jill anchors the 5 p.m. and 10 p.m. weekend newscasts on KITV 4 Island Television News.

Since starting at KITV in 1992, she's been a general assignment reporter, crime reporter and morning show anchor.

Over the years, Jill has won numerous awards including the Society of Professional Journalists "Excellence in Journalism" award for Feature Reporting and General News Reporting.

Before moving to Hawaii, Jill worked in the west coast markets of San Jose, San Francisco and San Diego. She was also an anchor and reporter in Guam where among her more notable stories was reporting from the eye of Super Typhoon Omar.

Jill was born in Hawaii, but grew up in Northern California. With family in both areas, she's been fortunate to live "in the best of both worlds" Jill says.

Jill holds a bachelor degree in Journalism from San Diego State University. She is a member of the Society of Professional Journalists and a board member of the Hawaii Chapter of the Asian American Journalists Association. In her spare time, Jill is a volunteer reader for the Library for the Blind and Physically Handicapped.

These days she keeping busy being a mother. Jill gave birth to a little boy in 2008.
