Mild Earthquake Felt Throughout Oahu

No Tsunami Generated, Officials Say

A mild earthquake was felt on Oahu and some Neighbor Islands Monday evening.

There are conflicting reports on the earthquake's magnitude and epicenter.

The U.S. Geological Survey reported the quake hitting at 8:10 p.m. with a magnitude of 3.2, with its epicenter 30 miles south of Makena, Maui. According to the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center, the quake was between a 3 and 4 magnitude and was centered northeast of Oahu.

No tsunami was generated by the quake, according to officials.

There were no reports of damage. KITV's Daryl Huff reported that many merchants in the Kailua area felt the quake, but none of them suffered any damage to their goods or shops.

KITV received numerous calls from throughout Oahu and from at least one neighbor island.
