HONOLULU -- Mechanical problems caused a trash pickup disruption on Monday in Kihei, Maui County officials said.

The Hale Piilani subdivision between Kaiwahine Street and Ohukai Road did not receive service on Monday.

Teams will return to the area on Tuesday, officials with the County of Maui Department of Environmental Management Solid Waste Division said.

Officials apologized for the inconvenience.
