HONOLULU -- Kauai police on Wednesday arrested a 31-year-old Lawai man in connection with a fatal crash.

Kauai's first fatal crash of the year was arrested yesterday morning at police headquarters in Lihue.

Tomas Garcia, 32, of Kapaa, was killed in the crash that on Kaumualii Highway Kahili Mount Park on Jan. 19. A passenger in Garcia's vehicle, a 27-year-old Kilauea man, was injured.

Police charged Norman Bukoski Jr. drunken driving, first-degree negligent homicide and first-degree negligent injury.

Police released him pending further investigation.
