Honolulu police have reclassified a home invasion case to a murder investigation now that the elderly victim has died.

Zachary Robinson, 19, and Cody Mikami, 21, were charged with attempted murder in connection with the Jan. 21 incident.

That morning, both Mary Lee Koskinen, 84, and her caregiver, Matthew Edmondson, 40, were found beaten and bloody inside the home on Halekoa Drive.

Koskinen died at 11:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Queens Medical Center, where she had been since the assault.

Murder charges are pending against Robinson and Mikami following the results of an autopsy being done Wednesday.
