Number Of Oahu Homes Falls; Median Prices Jump

Condos See Dip In Number Of Units Sold

The number of single-family homes and condominiums sold on Oahu in January dropped compared to December, but the median prices for homes climbed, according to the Honolulu Board of Realtors.

The median price for single-family homes resold in January jumped $47,500 to $597,500, compared to December's median price. That is an 8.6 percent increase over the month and a 10.8 percent increase over the same time last year.

Despite that increase, the number of single-family homes sold last month dropped from 265 in December to 162 in January.

Sellers of condominiums on Oahu also saw a drop in the number of units sold, from 349 in December to 227 in January. The median price for condos dipped only $1,000 to $299,000.
