Hawaii Census Office Hiring 3,000 WorkersTemporary Positions Pay Up To $20 HourlyPOSTED: 11:38 am HST February 2, 2010 HONOLULU -- Hawaii's local census offices are looking to hire 3,000 temporary workers to assist in the effort of counting the state's population for the 2010 Census, officials said.The jobs, ranging from census takers, enumerators, crew leaders and crew assistants pay from $12.75 to $20 per hour for up to 40 hours per week, for as long as two months.Workers are paid for training and receive weekly paychecks.New hires begin in May and will follow up with residents who do not complete and return the 2010 Census questionnaire, officials said.The questionnaires are expected to reach Hawaii mailboxes by mid- to late March.To apply call 1-866-861-2010 or visit www.2010censusjobs.gov.
