Honolulu police are looking for the driver of a car that may have caused two crashes on the Pali Highway that killed a man and injured six others.

A witness told KITV that a racing car may be responsible for the crashes.

The first crash happened on Jack Lane at about 7:10 p.m. Wednesday.

A witness said he was skateboarding with his dog when he heard a big screech noise. He said he saw a black Honda Civic weaving through the lanes, racing with another car and causing the two cars to crash.

Officials said a man in his 30s was killed and a woman her 50s was seriously injured in the crash.

Seconds later, an SUV crashed into a guardrail in the Honolulu-bound lanes, under the Wylie Street overpass.

Five people hurt, but not critically injured, officials said.

The third vehicle was involved and may have caused the first crash after cutting the Honda off, witnesses said. Some witnesses said they believe the crash was a case of road rage.
