AIEA, Hawaii -- A small sedan hit a man crossing Kamehameha Highway on Tuesday morning, leaving him seriously injured, authorities said.

The crash happened at about 8:45 a.m. at the intersection of Kamehameha Highway and Pali Momi Street.

The impact left a shattered window on the Honda Civic.

Paramedics treated the victim and took him to a nearby hospital in serious condition. His condition later worsened, leaving him in critical condition, officials said.
