HONOLULU -- A man died Monday afternoon after a forklift crushed him, fire officials said.

It happened on the 500 block of Alakawa Street in a warehouse just before 4 p.m., officials said.

The man was repairing the forklift in this alleyway, near the Alakawa Annex Warehouse, when the accident happened, police said.

The forklift lurched backward pinning him between the forklift and a stationery truck.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene, officials said.
