'ELE'ELE, Hawaii -- A man died in a car crash in 'Ele'ele Thursday morning, said the Kaua'i Police Department.
The crash occurred near the junction of Kaumuali‘i Highway and Halewili Road at about 10:40 a.m.
Two other people were taken to Kaua'i Veterans Memorial Hospital. The extent of their injuries was not known.
Police diverted eastbound traffic to Halewili Road, and those heading west were being directed to 'Ele'ele Road.
Motorists were urged to avoid the area, as it was uncertain as to when traffic would flow normally in the area.
