WAIKIKI, Hawaii -- Two teenagers are in police custody in connection with the death of a Good Samaritan in Waikiki early Sunday morning.Police said the 58-year old man, who has not been identified, was trying to help a couple as they were attacked by two teenagers.Officials said two teenagers, Benjamin Pada, 18, and Keahi Donovan Acasia, 19, both of Waianae, were attacking a couple at the intersection of Kalakaua and Paoakalani avenues, and were trying to steal the woman's purse, when a man stepped in and tried to help the couple.
Emergency workers said the man fell backward onto the pavement and went into cardiac arrest after he was punched in the face.Paramedics rushed the man to the Queens Medical Center. He was in critical condition and died at about 10:30 a.m. Sunday.Waikiki residents told KITV that they believe the teenagers attended a Reggae concert shortly before the incident.Police arrested Pada at the scene, but Acasia ran onto Lemon Road and hid in a hotel parking lot before he was arrested.The teenagers face murder, robbery and assault charges.
