Hawaii Releases 2008 Football Opponents

Season Includes Florida, Oregon State, Washington State, Cincinnati

POSTED: 9:10 pm HST October 4, 2007

The University of Hawaii Athletic Department on Thursday released the 2008 football schedule.

The release comes before the current season is halfway over. UH Athletic Director Herman Frazier came under fire last year for taking for what many considered a long time to fill out the 2007 schedule, and for having a number of Division II schools listed. Next season, no Division II schools are scheduled.

Next season, the Warriors will play five non-conference games, including two on the road within three weeks.

The team starts the season against the 2007 national champion Florida Gators on the road at "The Swamp." The Warriors return to play Weber State of the Big Sky Conference before going back on the road to play against the Oregon State Beavers.

Hawaii will also play against Washington State and Cincinnati.

The Warriors will also play eight Western Athletic Conference games.

Here is a look at the opponents and some of the dates for the 2008 schedule.
