Trends & Talkers: Kauai GMO rulingUPDATED 7:01 PM HST Aug 25, 2014Video Transcript
...that's what has you talking tonight. Today a federal judge ruled a new ordinance forcing regulation, disclosure, and buffer zones is INVALID, because such regulations should fall under STATE law. The new law was originally supposed to take effect earlier this month, but now it's un-enforceable. Jennie BenDayan writes, "Then he should eat everything first to show it's safe." Meagan Wilson Ezernack says, "How sad. We have the right to know what's sprayed on our food and if it's GMO." Kevin Luttrell counters, "GMO is not sprayed and not a pesticide. It is simply a technology and no legimate case of anyone getting sick in the 3 decades of its use has ever materialized... Whole Foods and the specialty vegan stores already label to market to you people. Make the choice to buy a tomato for $5 with a no gmo/organic label on it from those stores... if that choice makes you feel better about the food you eat. The rest of the world needs mass production to feed 7 billion people." Strong views on both sides. We want to know what you think of the judge's ruling and what should happen now. Head to facebook and weigh in tonight. Kenny?
