The Gas Company said it will be continuing emergency repair work on its underground utility pipeline at the intersection of South Beretania and Punahou Streets through the evening rush hour Friday.

The three left westbound lanes on Beretania and the two left southbound lanes on Punahou Street are closed.

The work is scheduled to go on until 10 p.m. or when it is completed.

Police will be on site and sign boards will be posted to help direct motorists around the construction area.

Motorists are urged to take an alternate route if possible, exercise caution near the construction zone, and allow extra time to reach their destination.
