Hawaii welcomed back one of its most beloved artists, Tony Orlando. He performed at the Blaisdell Center Sunday night.
“This is my 53rd year of showbiz. I started in 1961 and the people of Hawaii have always been very kind to me so it’s an honor to be here,” said Orlando.
Yellow ribbons were placed on the palm trees outside the Blaisdell Center in the weeks leading up to the performance. The ribbons were a tribute to Tony Orlando's famous song "Tie a Yellow Ribbon". Tom Moffatt, the famous local promoter, certainly got his money's worth (joked Orlando). “The only problem with that yellow ribbon is he made me tie it on every tree. He was like hey, Tony, one more right here (laughing),” said Orlando.
The artist/entertainer performed many of his well-known hits including, “Knock Three Times,” “Tie a Yellow Ribbon,” and “He Don’t Love You (Like I Love You).”
