yourself using non-lethal weapons. That's the message a local Woman's Self Defense Course is teaching. Joining me this morning with more on how you can join the class is Master Smith and Kaui Asing with the Smith Taekwondo Center. Good morning to you both! Master Smith you are a non- lethal weapons instructor - why is it important, especially for women to be able to defend themselves? Goal is to make sure that women do not become victims. What situations can they be in that they would need to do this? Sexual crimes against women happen every 2 minutes in the country. There is also domestic abuse. Kaui - how empowering is it to be able to do these moves? Important to have the self confidence to protect yourself In situations where the adrenaline is pumping two things happen-fight or flight. Kaui - could you show us some moves? Will demonstrating pepper spray use Master Smith - what move is this? Will be demonstrating the use of Pepper Spray How can women get involved? The class will be next saturday from 9 to 10:30 in the morning. You can pre register by calling the number on your screen or you can show up day-of. The cost is $20 and $25 at the door.
