this ALL week-- the Made in Hawaii Festival at the Neil Blaisdell Exhibition Center. This morning, local AWARD winning band Maunalua is in our studio. They will be performing at the festival later this MORNING! Joining me now is guitarist Bobby Moderow. KAHI KAONOHI RICHARD GIDEON -- ASHLEY: How long have you guys been together? BOBBY: 17 Years ASHLEY: Where are you guys from? BOBBY: I am from Maunalua. Kahi on the guitar is from Waimanalo and Richard on the Ukulele is from Waianae. ASHLEY: What are your proudest accomplishment s? BOBBY: Our family's-- for their continued support. And winning the Hoku awards was way cool too! ASHLEY: You guys performed at an inauguration luau for President Obama, January 2009. BOBBY: It was such an amazing experience and it made us proud to be from from Hawaii ASHLEY: Why is it important to perform in Hawaii at the Made in Hawaii Festival? BOBBY: It's the greatest showcase of everything good in one place from Hawaii nei. Again-- you can catch these guys TODAY ... They will be in the Pikake Room starting at 11- this morning.
