A new report shows that more than a third of kamaaina high schoolers who took the military entrance exam in 2010 failed, placing Hawaii in last place along with Mississippi. After serving the late senator for many years, Jennifer Sabas now heads the nonprofit pro-rail group Move Oahu Forward. Sabas was selected because, working for Inouye, she played a central role in securing federal funding for Honolulu rail. Her political skills will also be valued, as Move Oahu Forward's board includes executives with Hawaii's leading industries in health, finance, transportation, tourism and development.
