The recent storms have forced the cancellation of many events, but an event Tuesday on the Big Island is still happening.
The state wants to hear from Big Island residents about plans for a major overhaul of facilities at Hapuna Beach State Recreation Area.

Structures at the beach are more than 50 years old, but the state hopes to bid on the $3 million renovation next year.
"We need some repaving and reconstruction of the restrooms, some of the walkways need to be fixed, but we had meetings with the community and they have ideas, other things they would like to see. So, this is a chance for them to weigh in on the project," said Paul Quinn.
The public meeting will take place Tuesday at 5 p.m. and be located near the A-frame structures in the park.
