A special mass is being held Thursday to inter the remains of St. Marianne Cope at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Peace.
St. Marianne was known for caring for exiled leprosy patients in Molokai and died there in 1918 of natural causes.
Her remains were unearthed from her Kalaupapa resting place in 2005 and spent the past nine years enshrined in Syracuse, New York. That's where her religious congregation was based.
The mass begins at 10:45 a.m.
