Reynolds Recycling sites across the state were closed temporarily Thursday as the company waited for reimbursement from the state Department of Health.
The state is responsible for reimbursing the company the amount it pays consumers who recycle bottles and cans.
The Department of Health released the following statement:
"This month, the payment to Reynolds was delayed by a few days. We expect to make the payment by the end of this week, still well within the 30-day payment schedule provided by law."
DOH reimburses recyclers for thousands of dollars worth of 5 cent deposits when recyclable containers are redeemed.
The department's payment to recyclers is usually made within 10 days of receiving a proper claim.
Reynolds Recycling officials say they will re-open all of their 35 centers on Friday.
